Terms & conditions
HOW TO BOOK
The tours marked as guaranteed departures will depart as scheduled with the minimum number of participants specified in each tour. We will confirm the tour 30 days before the scheduled day. We try to make every departure work and only cancel when absolutely necessary and we may decide to operate a tour with less than the normal minimum number of people.
If your tour is cancelled because the minimum size group is not met, you will have the option to either transfer to another tour or receive a full refund of the deposit paid.
Usually to confirm your booking, we require a deposit of 30% of the total quote, and the balance is required 30 days before departure ; we will specify when different conditions apply in your pro-forma invoice.
CHANGES BY YOU
Any changes to your confirmed booking, must be notified us in writing. Whilst we will endeavour to assist, we cannot guarantee we will be able to meet the requests. Changes in party size which result in a decrease in the overall cost of the booking will be treated as a partial cancellation and our normal cancellation charges will apply.
CANCELLATION BY YOU
Should you need to cancel your booking after confirmation, you must immediately advise us in writing and the following cancellation charges will be applied. The cancellation charge is shown as a percentage and it is calculated on the basis of the total invoice.
notification of cancellation is received by us Cancellation charge (% of total invoice)
More than 45 days 10%
44-21 days 30%
20-8 days 50%
7-3 days 75%
2-NO SHOW 100%
We will specify when different conditions apply in your pro-forma invoice.
We recommend that you have a travel insurance. Should you be unable to attend your program or part of it, Private Sicily is not liable nor responsible for losses or costs.
CANCELLATION & CHANGES BY US
Occasionally, we have to make changes to and correct errors in the programs and other details both before and after bookings have been confirmed and cancel confirmed bookings. Whilst we always endeavour to avoid changes and cancellations, we must reserve the right to do so. A change of some aspects of confirmed plans may become inevitable owing to circumstances beyond our control. In such a case we shall substitute what is in our judgement an equivalent and suitable alternative and advise you of the fact at the earliest possible moment. Such a change does not entitle you to a refund. Most changes are minor. Occasionally, we have to make a significant change. It may from time to time become necessary to significantly change or modify one or more elements of a programme. We will advise you immediately of such an eventuality in writing by telefax or e-mail, describing the changes to be made and any possible variations in price. You will be allowed two working days after receipt of the notice within which to let us know whether you accept the changes or not. If you do not approve and wish to withdraw you will receive a full refund, without deductions of any sort. Should a similar significant change become inevitable after the start of a program we shall provide adequate and comparable alternative solutions. Similarly, it is extremely unlikely but not impossible that total cancellation of some aspect or aspects of confirmed plans may become inevitable owing to circumstances beyond our control, e.g. prohibitive weather conditions, strikes, national emergencies, etc., and that no equivalent or suitable alternative may be available at that time. This is extremely unlikely but if this situation does occur, we regret we will be unable to make any refunds (unless we obtain any refunds from our suppliers), pay you any compensation or meet any costs or expenses you incur as a result.
If you have any reason to complain or experience any problems with your holiday whilst away, you must immediately inform in writing our staff. Most problems can be dealt with quickly. It is not reasonable to take no action during your holiday but write a letter of complaint on your return. If you remain dissatisfied after alerting us to the problems during your stay, however, you must write to us at your return home giving us full details of your complaint.
