Food Markets and Home Cooks

Your experience starts early in the morning, when you will meet your chef and go together to the local food market, Ballarò, to buy the ingredients for the day's class. 

You will walk following the strong smell of fried food: the typical "panelle" to be tasted with big bun of bread and sesame; born with the Arabs, Sicilian ancient markets preserve intact the Arab roots of the Sicilian culture even in the way of putting the fresh fruit, the orange above all, dried fruit, the spices and olives.
Wonderful are the counters of fish, where big sword fishes dominate the scene.

A short walk in the historical center of Palermo and you will be in the charming home of your chef: an intimate location for an in-depth sight on Sicilian food culture. Wanda will open for you the doors of her kitchen.

At the end of your cooking class, you will seat all together around the table and enjoy your Sicilian recipes.
