Highlights
Favignana
Besides a pristine seaside destination, Favignana is the island famous for the tuna fishing, which ran until 2007, and the famous Florio family that has marked the history of this island. In what is now a temple of industrial archeology you can have a visit of the establishment of tuna Florio, wacthing historical films and videos related to the 'mattanza' of the tuna (the tuna traditional fishing).
Since 1991, the Egadi archipelago is recognized as the largest Marine Reserve of Italy. Its sea water, the hydrodynamic conditions of its seabed, made it one of the clearest and cleanest areas in the Mediterranean.

The best way to discover Egadi Islands is boating. If you wish a one day excursion, or renting a small boat, or sailing and cruising for some days, we are willing to accommodate your needs.
White calcarenite stone used to be extracted in Favignana till the sixties. Today quarries represent a unique attraction, one may visit both the old, delightful and charming quarries and the modern ones with the huge scenery and the “underground caverns” obtained by the patience and engineering skill of the old quarrier, the so called “pirriaturi”; finally, the garden-quarries, a mixture of plants and capers, pomegranates and figs smell typical of the island.
In what is now a temple of industrial archeology you can have a guided tour of the establishment of tuna Florio, wacthing historical films and videos related to the 'mattanza' of the tuna (the tuna traditional fishing).
